GREAT DISCONTENT 01
"Almost three years after we launched The Great Discontent as a digital publication, we decided to take TGD to print. For our inaugural printed issue, we teamed up with designer Frank Chimero to assist with editorial design and art direction, and we turned to our community for support via Kickstarter. After a nail-biting, albeit successful 30-day Kickstarter campaign, our readers helped raise $105k to create The Great Discontent, Issue One. We began working on the magazine immediately, gathering 17 interviews with a loose theme of leaps—since we had just taken a huge leap of our own. We wrapped production on the magazine at the end of May and completed printing at Hemlock Printers in Vancouver, BC, in mid June. Magazines began shipping in late June, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response."
